报告人简介:

Suriyan Supapvanich is a Professor in Postharvest Technology in the School of Industrial Education and Technology, King Mongkuts Institute of Technology, Ladkrabang(KMITL), Thailand. His field of specialization is postharvest biology and biochemistry of tropical fruit and vegetables. He is a director of Ph.D program in Inovative Tropical Agriculture of KMITL. He has also published more than 40 papers in international journals, 2 book chapters and a text book.

报告内容简介:

Elicitors is recognized as a substance for stress factors inducing or improving the biosynthesis of specific compounds which do have an important role in the adaptations of plants to a stressful conditions. Suriyan Supapvanichs research are focused on the applications of chemical elicitors and physical elicitors such as salicylic acid, methyl jasmonate, vitamin B12, UV-C and ultrasound (US) maintaining as well as improving postharvest quality of a range of tropical fruits and vegetables such as guava, pineapple, wax apple and Thai sweet basil during storage.

Dr. Phebe Ding is holding a position as a Professor at Department of Crop Science, Faculty of Agriculture. To date, she has published 114 journal articles and 128 refereed articles and conference proceedings, 1 book and 8 book chapters. She has supervised 54 undergraduate students, and supervised and co-supervised 50 postgraduate students, 33 of which have completed their PhD and MS degrees. A total of 8 PhD and 10 MS students have graduated under her supervision. She has also been appointed as Associate Editor of Pertanika Journal of Tropical Agricultural Science, editor of Journal of Tropical Plant Physiology and few more publishers.

报告内容简介:

Malaysia is a country located near to equator with a very consistent average daily temperature that range from 24°C (night) to 34°C (day) while average relative humidity of 75 to 95% throughout a day.  Malaysia receives annual precipitation of 3,085.5 mm.  As a result, Malaysia produces world well-known tropical fruit like durian, starfruit, coconut, banana, rambutan, mango, jackfruit, starfruit, etc. Malaysia is a nation with multiracial ethnic groups where each ethnic group are having their own unique culture and living style.  For Malaysian, fruit is far beyond as dessert and entrée, yet it plays significant role in religious, cultural, and social life.
