Dr Walter Dewitte investigates  molecular mechanisms of plant growth and development. He currently works at the School of Biosciences at Cardiff University (UK). He obtained his doctoral degree at the University of Antwerp (Belgium), and performed post doctoral research at the University of Cambridge (UK). His work have been published in Nature , The Plant Cell, PNAS, The Plant Journal, Plant Physiology, Journal of Experimental Botany.

Walter Dewitte研究领域为细胞分裂调控植物生长发育的分子机制。他在比利时安特卫普大学获得博士学位，在英国剑桥大学进行博士后研究，目前在英国卡迪夫大学生物科学学院进行研究工作。他的研究成果发表在Nature 、The Plant Cell、PNAS、The Plant Journal、Plant Physiology、Journal of Experimental Botany。

报告摘要：

D type cyclins promote cell division,  and are postulated to be  conserved regulators of the G1/S transition of the mitotic cells cycle. Their levels respond to mitogenic stimulation and they are under transcriptional control of developmental regulators. We will survey their role in organ development and evaluate our current understanding of their role.

D型细胞周期蛋白可以促进细胞分裂，被认为是有丝分裂细胞周期G1/S过渡的关键调节因子。D型细胞周期蛋白的表达水平对有丝分裂相关刺激因素进行响应，并受一系列发育调节因子的转录控制。我们通过系列研究探索和诠释了这些蛋白在植物器官发育中的功能与作用。
